Huxley’s Birds of Prey Visit for Y2

On Wednesday, Clover and Hawthorn children were lucky to get a visit from Julian, James and Karen from Huxley’s Birds of Prey. They brought some very special visitors, including a barn owl called Hamlet, Khan the American Harris Hawk, Pixel the Falcon, Igor the  European Eagle Owl and Suki the Peregrine Falcon. After having a talk in the hall, we went to our classrooms to stroke Igor and Hamlet.

We learnt lots of interesting facts about birds of prey, including the special parts of their body, their behaviour and what they eat. ‘Crepuscular’ is a very impressive new word for us. Can you explain what it means to your grown-ups at home?
