Learning about Space

Year 5 have been learning about Space this term and we have been very fortunate to take part in a range of online activities.

We have interviewed Space engineers online using a website called ‘I’m an engineer, get me out of here.’ The children interviewed three different engineers and got to ask them lots and lots of questions.

We then had an online workshop from an astronomer who worked for The Royal Observatory in Greenwich. We learnt lots about the Solar System and why we can’t live on Saturn!

OnFriday, 11/12/20, we will be watching an online talk from Libby Jackson, who worked on Tim Peake’s space team.

We have also completed lots of work in class – researching facts about Space, learning through drama the history of Space, creating our own bar charts and writing our own Space questions.

Please ask your child about all of the things that they have learnt.
