This week was all about making paint from natural materials.

The children found chalk, charcoal and leaves from our area and ground them up.

Some of them painted the trees, but many of them painted their faces!

Using the palm drills again they drilled holes through wooden discs

Then used the paints to decorate them. (the yellow is turmeric)

Some drilled Elder beads too. Elder has a very soft centre and is really good for beads!

As well as all this Ms Murry helped those who wanted to, light a small fire using a flint in a scallop shell.

As you can see this takes a lot of concentration!
