This week the children have been learning how to build an ‘upsidedown’ fire and how to use a flint rod safely. These are particularly difficult for little fingers but the children showed great enthusiasm and excitement when they were all able to make a spark. They are all looking forward to having a real fire and hot chocolate next week!
Rosie Resilience also came to play when they tackled whittling with potato peelers, this looks a lot easier than it actually is! However, there were some super Santas made. And this is great preparation for next week when they will whittle their own marshmellow sticks.
Despite some quite heavy rain on Thursday the children all managed to learn some new skills and have fun. Its been another great week outside.
