Should the adverse weather result in school closure, please find below some different learning activities that can be accessed at home:
Reading
Bug Club: Your child can read a book they have been assigned and work through the comprehension questions attached to the book. Every child has been assigned multiple books in case the adverse weather lasts multiple days.
River of Reading: your child can continue working on their river of reading book week homework.

Maths

Your child could show off their new measurement skills, by helping you prepare something yummy for lunch or dinner.
Look out the window at the snow and ask your child “where is the maths?” – This is a maths chat we do every day in Year One. Your child should think about measuring, shape, number, days/time/calandar, counting, pattern, direction.

If your child wants to do any writing, they could write about their fun in the snow. Remind them to check for Capital letters, finger spaces, full stops and jigsaw words once they have finished writing.
